auDA Foundation offers grants totalling $200,000

By

The auDA Foundation, supported by .au domain authority auDA, is offering five $40,000 competitive grants for new education or research projects that enhance the utility of the Internet in the areas of digital inclusion (with an emphasis on First Nations peoples), cyber security for small business, and Internet access for young Australians.

The foundation has previously supported projects relating to digital literacy, digital inclusion and affordable Internet access for Indigenous communities.

Foundation chair James Atkins said "We are thrilled to reignite the auDA Foundation to fund much needed research and support projects that focus on driving the utility, accessibility and security of the Internet in Australia."

auDA CEO Rosemary Sinclair said "auDA is pleased to support the Foundation in this new funding round. The pandemic has demonstrated the Internet is indeed a critical asset – as important as electricity and gas to many Australians and vital for empowering social connection, economic prosperity and digital transformation across the nation."

Applications are open until 15 October 2021. Successful applicants will be notified during the first week of December.

The foundation welcomes community input about relevant projects, but grants will only be offered to not-for-profit organisations or research institutions or individuals who are students.
